![]() ![]() Similar story for setting up lighting layer for LEDs, if you select something from LIGHTING LINK it will add a layer to everything, if you select PRESET options, it will not affect other devices. HOWEVER, selecting Rainbow under "LIGHTING LINK" under Pump will affect all the fans (even after closing iCue). Selecting a "PRESET" for Pump will not affect lighting layers in the "8-LED Series Fans" tab. What I mean here is you can click + to add a lighting layer, then when setting that up the "PRESETS" only exist for the item being configured, ie Arc. Even if there is nothing in the lighting layers for each item, then the item selected in Hardware settings is ignored when iCue closes.įor the Lighting Layers, the selections here are not intuitive since Pump and 8-LED Series Fans have different options, hence if you select something in one it may not exist in the other. My set up has a section for "Pump" and "8-LED Series Fans", if there is a lighting layer there, then that takes over when iCue is closed. The only settings that stay are the things that get added to the "Lighting Layers" for the individual types of fans. I have a H115i Cooler with lighting hub and all fans attached to that hub. I figured it out, the "Hardware lighting" is just a demo area really. You can force that to happen when your done with setup by quitting CUE from the Task Bar and then relaunching normally. The next time you start CUE it will put all lighting effects back in synchronization. While some people like that, it is only temporary. This will make the lighting appear to more random. As you set that up, you will inevitably create the effect for each device at some moment other than second zero in the lighting timing pattern. If you would like different components to switch to different colors, create a normal Color Shift preset for each device. To set a global color shift pattern that is in sync for color and timing, use the "Lighting Link" version of the effect near the bottom of the drop down. You need to set your lighting in "Lighting Effects", "Channel Lighting", or QL/LL/8 LED FAN SERIES for the Commander Core/XT, depending on your controller type. You also will see it on boot and shutdown. To quit CUE and see your HW Lighting, you need to open the task bar ^ and right click on CUE. Closing CUE by clicking the X in the app window does not close the program. That will go away as soon as you leave the HW Lighting tab. When you are setting it, CUE will give you a preview so you know what it looks like. When you set it on anything except KBs, it is saved to device immediately. Hardware Lighting is the setting for when CUE is not running. That is what it is supposed to do., but you don't need to assign hardware lighting as a profile nor can you set up multiple different hardware lighting profiles you cycle between. ![]() I attempted to assign the hardware lighting to a profile and apply the profile but still had the same result. ![]() The K95 Platinum should have a spiral rainbow, rain, and color shift already saved. All KBs and mice come with preset hardware lighting, so you only need to do this if you want some specific patterns when the PC is booting up. At the bottom are tools to save it to a save slot. Change the Hardware Lighting in CUE, the go to Device Settings. Once you create the HW Lighting you must physically save it to the peripheral, unlike the automatic saving AIO, RAM, and fan controllers. However, KBs and mice are a bit different for saving hardware lighting or remaps. This will be true for both the AIO and the KB. CUE works in layers with higher listed effects covering over lower effects. That will reveal the lighting choice menu in the lower left corner. To add lighting effects that run when CUE is active, you must go to the Lighting Effects tab and click on that yellow + button. Be aware Rainbow Wave in hardware mode is not exactly the same as in software mode. When you set it in CUE, it will "preview" the effect for you so you have some idea what it looks like but it is only temporary. That instruction is then saved to the device. The "Hardware Lighting" tab sets the behavior for the device when CUE is not running.
